yup, think it was on the dailyshow where they reminded that around this time 4 years ago about 20 people confirmed they where running.
now its 1, the serving president.
the rebs love to portray obama as an lame duck but the fact no'one is willing to run against him means that they see no hope to wager their comfy FOX pundit jobs against him.
also the only now potential contender "presidential" enough to actually possibily be an contender in the general elections, mitt romney, will be ripped to shreds in the primaries because he is A. an mormon an B. introduced manditory healthcare in his state.

I agree, Romney would have the best chance in a general election among the candidates that have announced, or seem likely to do so.
