I feel like BDS, for instance, is an expression of hopelessness and defeatism, in that it calls for a personal protest against Israel without lending itself to the longterm goal of actually ENDING Israeli apartheid. Is the goal to simply "raise awareness" and hope that America--as a society--will understand the horrors of imperialism and occupation to the point where we refuse to pay taxes for both the military industrial complex and apartheid? What should/can us first worlders do in order to prevent our own exploitation of the third?
I feel as though Arabs and Muslims are way ahead of us in terms of solving their own shit. I'd just really like to know how I can help.
