IMMIGRANT WORKERS FREEDOM RIDE

I just heard about this today when I went to La Prensa Latina...

There's going to be a freedom ride for workers who are immigrants, kinda reminiscent of the Freedom Rides of the black students in the 1960's. This is slightly different, but same general goal: equality.

I haven't read all about it yet, so I don't know a lot about it. The bus is going to stop in my city (Memphis) and present at the National Civil Rights Museum. I believe the last date will be October 4 in Queens, for all you Neoyorrquinos.

This is pretty significant. Also that the AFL-CIO's among the sponsors.

They're stopping in a lot of cities - including mine - so there's probably local activities where a lot of people on these boards live.
