Right click on what you have downloaded and go to properties, what type of file does it say it is?

There is a separate Rosetta Stone program. You load up the languages on it.

This.
If you haven't installed the program yet, you might need something like Daemon tools if it's in an .iso format.

If you downloaded the cd image, you might have to burn them onto a CD or install a virtual drive program and "mount" the cd image to that drive.
Here's a virtual cd drive program: http://www.magiciso.com/tutorials/miso-magicdisc-overview.htm

Thanks a lot for the help guys. I gotta take time to do these steps. I am very ignorant about computers even though that is my major in school (i wont learn anything until the FINAL year can you believe that?) Anyways i will try to follow it precisely.

Rosetta Stone is good, but there is no substitute for: a) in-person conversations with a native speaker, and b) a decent grammar textbook. I used RS to learn Arabic, but I quickly realized I needed the other two, as well.

I know a solid guy who is willing to help me with Spanish once I get the basics down and need help with conversation. Is R.S. where I should start off first? I remember almost no Spanish from when I was in high school.

I think Rosetta Stone is pretty good. I suggest using Pimsleur for at least an hour a day though.

Just as good, if not better. It's like Rosetta Stone that also functions as a language learning social network by keeping you connected with native speakers. All the basic features are free.

I think taking actual classes and practicing with native speakers is the best way.. it's easy for me since I live in the same building as the foreign exchange students.

The easiest way I found to learn Spanish was to grow up with parents that only spoke Spanish. If you can do this, you're pretty much guaranteed to learn it unless you have one of those fake "mental disorders" like Wernickle's aphasia.
