Learning Russian cracks me up because now I understand why Russian-o-phones skips some words when speaking English. Man in car. What this? This my brother. Cat eats.

Russia? That is great I had actually contemplated learning that when i was younger. Maybe If i can truly be disciplined and learn spanish (my wife speaks it fluently so i can have lots of practice) maybe i could learn another language. I hear russian is very difficult though.
I really want to get my Spanish down though. Just in case one day ill have to leave to a latin country (preferably one that is being lead to socialism).
I never used Rosetta stone before, but hell it was free and I hear it is a great program.

Ruskiy izik ochen trudnyoe, no prakrasna. Russian...man it's rough, but it's fun...and worth it. I can't wait to get to Russia and Russian-speaking countries once I get my Russian to a higher level (my grammar...kakoi uzhas!).
AmericanSocialist, I've never used it but Rosetta Stone has a mixed reputation, it's expensive as all hell (good thing you got it for free) and isn't very explanatory. But since you have it definitely use it. My best advice is just to get your basics down and speak with Spanish speakers as much as you can. Also, watch Spanish TV (Mexican soccer is my personal favorite), it should improve your comprehension and accent. Buena suerte, compan~ero/a. :thumbup1:

Ineffectually and lazily trying to learn French. (I cannot even say the previous sentence in French.)

Eu falo portugues, mas portuges de Brasil.
I've been to Brazil on three occassions so I have a intermediate level of spoken and written portuguese. Although I still have a lot of problems readings newspapers and books about serious matters, or watching a TV news bulletin.

I've been meaning to learn Spanish. I'm always hearing Spanish; I work in the public, so it would be used on a daily basis considering I live in a town with a significant population (around 15%), and am near Chicago (28% Hispanic)
I really need to pursue it, I would use it a lot and would love to master it. Knowing only English gets boring

I'm currently learning Lojban, a constructed language based on predicate logic, designed to be very different from existing spoken languages.
Kinda useless, but very interesting.

I'm from the Netherlands, and we have to learn several foreign languages in high school. I am fluent in English, can understand and communicate a little in German (but not read articles and such that good) and can read and talk a little French. Also I got some basic education in Spanish but it is very rusty. When I went to Barcelona 2 years ago I couldn't even ask for directions or something. Just the phrase ''Tres servesas por favor'' or however you spell it. :D

Estoy practicando mi español...tengo un nivel intermedio pero a este nivel no es fácil de aprender más. Las noticias y artículos politicos utilizan muchos cognados y los puedo leer; la literatura es más difícil.
After I feel more comfortable with my Spanish I want to try and get my French up to a higher level...I couldn't write the above en français but I figure those are the two most important. After that it's an open field.

Well, if it makes you feel better, neither can I off the top of my head. Though with the help of my French to English dictionary and French Text book, I believe I have it:
Inutilement et paresseusement essayer d'apprendre le français. (Je ne peux même pas dire la phrase précédente en français.)
Though it is probably still wrong.
Edit:

Drat. Perhaps the difference is because you are Quebecois? Or more likely I was just wrong. :(

För mig, svenska är som tyska, men kanske vackare. :) Men jag tanker tyska är jätte bra också, jag läsa det nu...lycka till med både!

And currently I'm learning portuguese, and hopefully polish or russian in the near future.

I've got 2 years of sub-par Spanish instruction under my belt, and am currently focusing on Latin, which is remarkably easy, but that may just be my teacher.
I think learning Russian would be really kick-ass, but after Latin, I'll try German.

Not bad I hope

It's pretty much the same translation, I just wrote it a different way. The only thing missing in yours is an indicator (je, tu, il etc.) of who is learning French, it's like one of those things that makes direct English-French translations hard. You could get away excluding that if it were written in response to the question "what language are you learning?" like this; "Francais, inutilement et paresseusement."

Ah. Okay. I didn't write "je/je suis" cause I was just trying to translate what he said, which was indeed an answer to the OP's question, so I suppose I'm technically right! :D

I've tried studying Swedish, Spanish, Dutch and Esperanto, but only know a few words or sentences in those languages. I know very basic French. I tend to be be able to read other languages better than I can write or speak them.
Personally, I would find it great to be able to speak another language, or at least understand a second language.

I was studying French until recently. I quite enjoyed it and I want to keep it up so I don't forget everything.
Also, for some reason when I first read about the "rosetta stone" download in the other thread I thought the OP had downloaded the writing on the actual rosetta stone or something. After reading this thread it makes a lot more sense.

I'm trying to learn Korean at the moment, my girlfriend's parents don't really speak anything else. Rosetta Stone Korean is TOUGH, it starts out at what seems like a really fast pace.

Well, my Korean class is at a really fast pace as it is, so I'm not too concerned.

Swedish is ridiculously easy. I wish I had the motivation to go through all that when I still had the chance, my Swedish atm sucks pretty bad.
