I feel as if I'm obliged, as a socialist/anarchist/&c., to learn more about this man's ideologies (which I understand are at least nominally socialistic in nature). I have not read The Green Book yet - ought I do so (I guess this is a pretty moot question - of course I should), and are his ideologies popularly accepted amongst members of this forum (I will certainly investigate them myself, but if there's any support from people here, I will probably feel more compelled, as it were, to do so)?

Any responses are greatly appreciated.

Maybe,(probably a few people now) but he cant be popular after the grisly events of the Libyan protest's.
Check the Libya thread,it contains a lot of information abot him and his statements in the recent days.
He certianly is not someone you should regard as a person to follow.
Just read the thread and have a look what this man did.
If he simply resigned,i would even still have a little respect for him.

There's no possible way he can be; I wouldn't argue with this.

I wouldn't think so, at least not now.

Will do; thanks a lot!

His green book is pretty interesting...at least part one and partially part two... But be prepared for some rants, rambling and incoherency.

Also: theory =/ reality.

Errr, hasn't his involvement in Lockerbie been pretty much established at this point? I mean, Gaddhafi has been a mass murderer for a while.

If you want to learn about Qaddafi, just watch the news about how his troops have opened fire on peaceful protesters...think the death toll is above 600 at this point.

Watch his speeches at the moment.

Gaddafi is an idiot with no coherent ideology who came to power in a military coup and became a Soviet stooge. When the USSR fell, Libya was an outcast for a while, but eventually embraced neoliberal reform. Just recently the IMF gave it a glowing report. Gaddafi has been helping the west fight its terrorist boogeyman while at the same time talking about anti-imperialism and third worldism. He's little more than a child. He's always been a lunatic, but that recent speech was just so fucking bizarre.

There's really nothing good about his stuff.
