With specific mention to Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh.
The DPRK.
And with regaurds Mao and China.
Now preferably these come from reputeable Marxist historians, I have no intention of wadeing through Bourgeois drivel.
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Bruce Cumings - North Korea: Another Country is a very good read on the DPRK. The author comes off as sympathetic towards the DPRK, and reviewers constantly complain of him as a "apologist for totalitarian DPRK" or whatever. I think that's a pretty good sign.

I've heard that Ho Chi Minh: A Life is good. Although the author is an anti-communist and the book in general from a bourgeois perspective, it's still informative and you can just filter out all of the bullshit.
As for Mao, comrades have recommended The Battle for China's Past: Mao and the Cultural Revolution, which I've ordered and am waiting for. You can download it here (http://espressostalinist.files.wordp...hinas-past.pdf).

I'm reading "Mao's China and After" right now. The author seems to be pretty pro-Marxist, though every time the subject of the Soviet Union comes up the author starts praising Trotsky and going on about "Stalinist despotism" unfortunately. Other than that though, I'm quite liking it so far.
