Is anyone else tired of this excuse being brought out every fuckin time someone brings an atrocity committed by a communist group or state capitalist country? I mean I'm pretty sure we're all well aware that revolution is not a dinner party, but that doesnt mean we're cool with the Shining Path or whoever gunning down a reactionary 1 year old.

It's not supposed to be a dinner party, but it's not really supposed to be a guilt-free zealous rampaging bloodbath, either.

Well, then the question who will draw the thin red line and where? And how it can be assured that everybody will obey the line everytime, which, in my opinion, is beyond human psychological capability and nature.

I don't think we should care too much regarding these, I believe we know better. However, the problem is the masses, who do not.

I see. Since we can't draw a red line and expect everyone to follow it, we should just let anything go?

I think it's really obvious that extremely violent revolutionary groups lose popularity from their violence.
I don't think the line is as thin as some of you make it out to be.

Quite. If even one tenth the things I've heard about various revolutionary movements are true, I don't know if I can reasonably support them. I can understand the argument that the ends justifies the means, but it seems all too often the means goes well beyond expediency to counterproductive excess. If anything such measures have done more than anything to undermine the credibility of the revolutionary left.

The "line" should be defined by whatever working class group is struggling for empowerment in the terms that violence should not exceed self defense or the real empowerment of the community. Anything less is counter-productive, and anything more is unjust and compromising violence. The goal is not to go out and kill policemen, but to protect proletarians against their potential abuse/aggression. The goal is not to execute or torture unarmed members of the bourgeoisie, but abolish their class through whatever means necessary.
