If the usual chit chatters went into IRC chat then I would be wicked down to go into IRC chat on nights when I am not doing anything, but none of you go in there and so it's basically nothing 70% of the time and political talk 30% of the time.

You have no idea how much che-lives has degenerated. It used to have a lot more serious, interesting discussion. It is now a shadow of it's former self. The fact that there are people actually lamenting whatever remaining serious discussion that remains only proves this to me more.
Che-lives was what originally hooked me into this site, and now almost all of the old guard is gone and it's become bullshit, for the most part.

It still has serious discussion basically every time I go in (which is not much, I'll admit). It's not interesting at all but it's serious.

Blah blah blah. I have read some of the older threads on this site and the political discussion on this site in the past was pathetic compared to what it is now. Besides, I like lot of the people here in chit-chat now. I wouldn't even bother visiting revleft if it were all boring political discussion.
Also, people need to quit being so dramatic. Can't we disagree, but still get along outside of the heated debates in the rest of the forum. I like just about everyone here and I don't understand all the hate. >.>

What was his reason for leaving?
Tablo
24th February 2011, 06:42
He got accused of being misogynist and some other stuff because he got way to worked up in some debate pertaining to Israel where he was accusing other people of being anti-semitic or some bs like that. Not really sure since I haven't seen the thread, but here is the thread where he asked for his banning. I don't know any of the actual details, but I'm sure a bit of searching and you can find it.

1) I've never used the IRC chat. It doesn't work for me. I use Firefox, and nope. I tried Internet Explorer, and it didn't on there either.
2) Widerstand/UN/United Nations/Chammer(?)/probably more names was one of my favorite posters. A true dedication to him:

What Zeek said
+
I was in there once and a conversation started about something really riveting like the inner workings of the sewage system in the USSR. I went to the pub for a couple of hours and left it running when I got back they were still going at it. No one else was included in the conversation as the two people were shooting messages like bullets and completely drowned out any other attempts by people to talk. For me that's not a good IRC that's what PM's and the forum should be for.
Actually come to think of it I think Widerstand was one of the people debating :p

On serious bullshit in livechat: we have forums for political posts and discussions (generally of a higher quality because people generally have longer to reply and check facts) so you have to be one hell of a tedious bore to feel the need to do it in the chat channel. Plus there's an entire bunch of people who only use the chat. Those people are weird.

Also, Widerstand was a good poster when he wasn't talking about serious stuff. When anyone disagreed with him in any way, even on small issues, he threw outrageously annoying temper tantrums. Every. Single. Time. He was clearly way too immature to be on a political debate forum.

That a pretty gross misrepresentation of his posting zeek. He was here for a fairly long time and the majority of the (political) debates he was in were as civil as any other on revleft. (which isn't saying much but). He did get overly defensive over the last month or two i noticed, but honestly I can't blame him, revleft bullshit can get to you.

Honestly zeek, sounds to me like you just didn't like him cause you got into it from time to time with him.I disagreed with him sometimes and so I had to tolerate temper tantrums being thrown at me. That is why I had problems with him. I also disagree with Prairie Fire on basically everything but I don't take issue with her because she conducts herself in a way that I am okay with.
Widerstand was under the impression that he was going to be restricted or banned, for some reason. Can anyone shed some light on this?We weren't going to restrict or ban him, I dunno where he got that idea because it wasn't true. We had a thread going on him because we needed to deal with his disruptive and extremely hostile behavior, though.

Everyone called him a Zionist because he believed in Socialist Revolution in both Israel and Palestine instead of the PFLP or Hamas consuming the Israeli state....
And he called the Hamas supporters Anti Semitic because they are always bringing up Israel and ignoring other issues.

Everyone called him a Zionist because he believed in Socialist Revolution in both Israel and Palestine instead of the PFLP or Hamas consuming the Israeli state....He was called a zionist when he was saying that he considers a two state solution preferable to a one state solution. When I disagreed and said that the abolishment of Israel like all other capitalist and racist regimes should be a matter of principle and that we should call for it's immediate abolition (particular as a part of opposing your own ruling class) and that there should be no compromise with it he accused me of being a Jew Killer and wanting a genocide against Jews. He only adopted the position he held when he left later on, but people had been disagreeing with him when he was saying that now the most rational situation is a two state one.
I don't think he was a zionist but he did used to say some dodgy things concerning Israel and Palestine, he got over it though and towards the end I think his position was good.
Also Israel topics weren't the only thing he threw temper tantrums about.
And he called the Hamas supporters Anti Semitic because they are always bringing up Israel and ignoring other issues. No they're not.
People that are like "why do you focus on Israel baw baw baw" don't understand the first thing about focusing on your own ruling class.

Everyone called him a Zionist because he believed in Socialist Revolution in both Israel and Palestine instead of the PFLP or Hamas consuming the Israeli state.... Fun fact: I don't support Hamas or the PFLP and I think the only solution in Israel is the "no sate" solution of international socialist revolution but there has not been a single occasion on which I've been called a Zionist for this position...

Well that's because Widerstand was more, how I say, 'fierce' on the matter. Meaning almost every time someone brought it up he responded.
He isn't alone though. People like Krimskrams and Comrademan are STILL labeled Zionists by a few people. (Comrademan is labeled a zionsit by a lot of people).
Why don't you bring your opinion to one of Freepalestine's threads and see how long you will last without being called a Zionist liberal.
