This Judge should get life in a hard prison, many people have heard of this case of privatizing the prison system, this is what happens when you put the profit motive in things like this.

Its heart wrenching to see the mother of the kid that killed himself.

This guy is right now at home with his family drinking a cup of coffee. The people that privatized the prisons should be also held publically accountable.

Obviously they can't be charged but they should be forced to sit and publically listen to all the parents of the children that went away, and all the children that lost their childhood, it should be televised and they should have to sit there on TV and listen.

Ciavarella is scum and anyone who thinks a private prison system is a good idea is a stupid fucking animal.

Not Pelican bay. Siberian gulag would be more fitting.

One day, we will lock up people like this judge in forced labor camps in Alaska, making little ice cubes out of big ice cubes.

This judge should go to a privately run prison.

On the part of why these kids were sent to prison--I find it unbelieveable that a person was sent to prison--any prison--for stealing $4 of nutmeg.

They (not so) Young Turks are on the Left to what Glenn Beck is on the Right.

How so? Glenn Beck has insane conspiracy theories based on total lies, and baseless and factless claims.

I've never heard the young turks present any conspiracy theory, nor present anything that was not backed up with facts. Now they're a little silly sometimes, and Cenk gets angry sometimes.

But there is a difference between lying and not lying, theres a difference between being a corporate shill and a propegandist based on baseless narratives, and being an opinionated talk show based on facts.

BTW, I'd say Cenk is right to get worked up a bit over this.

He should be charged with some form of treason, and given that he was a public servant, all of his assets should be confiscated.

That's absolutely disgraceful :cursing:

He ruined the lives of kids as young as 10 and (albeit indirectly) killed a young man.

And why? For a bit more money...

Capitalism sucks :(

Well it happened nearby where I lived at the time so I can verify that, yeah, it happened.

Also, TYT aren't anywhere close to Beck. They aren't reporters, of course. They deal in opinion. But they try to base what they're talking about in fact, and they are not nearly as hysterical as Beck.

Looks like a screwed up version of those "Scared Straight" programs with a bit of boot camp mentality thrown in.

This is why some forms of privatization can not be used. For profit schools, for profit hospitals, and for profit prisons is a version of abuse of the poor and it does not benefit anybody except who is running it.

This is why privatization is a useless idea overall.

Pelican Bay shouldn't exist.
