The NATO plan is to occupy Libya
Oil became the main source of wealth in the hands of large transnational Yankees, and through this energy source disposed in an instrument that greatly increased its political power in the world. It was his main weapon when they decided to readily liquidate the Cuban revolution as soon as the first laws just and sovereign in our country, depriving it of oil.
On this energy source was developed civilization. Venezuela was the country in this hemisphere with the highest price paid. United States became the owner of the huge reservoir with which nature endowed this sister nation.
After the last World War began to draw from the fields of Iran and of Saudi Arabia, Iraq and the Arab countries located around them, greater quantities of oil. These became the main suppliers. Global consumption rose gradually to the great figure of about 80 million barrels a day, including those extracted in the territory of the United States, subsequently joined by the gas, hydro and nuclear. Until the early twentieth century, coal was the primary source of energy which made possible the industrial development, they produce billions of cars and consumer of liquid fuel engines.
The waste of oil and gas is associated with one of the greatest tragedies, not resolved at all, suffering humanity: climate change.
When our Revolution came, Algeria, Libya and Egypt were not yet producing oil, and much of the huge reserves of Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Iran and the UAE were to be discovered.
In December 1951, Libya became the first African country to achieve independence after World War II, in which the territory was the scene of major fighting between German troops and the United Kingdom, which was famous generals Erwin Rommel and Bernard L. Montgomery.
95% of its territory is completely deserted. The technology allowed the discovery of large deposits of light oil of excellent quality that today reach one million 800 thousand barrels per day and abundant deposits of natural gas. Such wealth allowed [Libya] to achieve a life expectancy that is almost 75 years, and the highest income per capita in Africa. [Libya's] rigorous desert is located on a huge lake of fossil water, equivalent to more than three times the size of Cuba, which has made it possible to build an extensive network of freshwater conductive stretches across the country.
Libya, which had a million people to achieve independence, now has more than 6 million.
The Libyan Revolution took place in September 1969. Was its leader Muammar al-Gaddafi, military Bedouin origin, who in his early youth was inspired by the ideas of Egyptian leader Gamal Abdel Nasser. No doubt many of its decisions are associated with changes that occurred when, as in Egypt, a weak and corrupt monarchy was overthrown in Libya.
The people of this country have ancient warrior traditions. It is said that the ancient Libyans were part of Hannibal's army when he was about to liquidate the ancient Rome with the force that crossed the Alps.
[One] may or may not agree with Gaddafi. The world has been invaded with all sorts of news, especially using mass media. Will have to wait long enough to know how much is strictly true or false, or a mixture of events of all kinds, in the chaos, took place in Libya. What for me is absolutely clear is that the U.S. government is not concerned with absolute peace in Libya and will not hesitate to give NATO the order to invade this rich country, perhaps within hours or very few days.
Those with devious intentions invented the lie that Gaddafi was heading to Venezuela, as they did on the afternoon of Sunday 20 February, today received a decent response from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, when expressed textually was "hope that the Libyan people are, in exercise of its sovereignty, a peaceful solution to their difficulties, which preserves the integrity of the Libyan people and the nation without the interference of imperialism ..."
For my part, I cannot imagine the Libyan leader leaving the country, evading the responsibilities which he is charged, whether or not false in part or in its entirety.
An honest person will always be against any injustice committed with any people in the world, and the worst of them, at this moment, would remain silent about the crime that NATO is prepared to commit against the Libyan people.
[The head of that belligerent organization is urged to do so.] We must denounce [it]!
