Couple of years ago I read an article about the war in Afghanistan. It said NATO has killed more civilians than the taliban. I think Arundhati Roy also said this in an interview. Is this true? Many "official" statistics say it's the other way around. Where can I find some relieble statistics about the war?

Not sure on location of statistics, but I'm fairly sure NATO's killed more civilians than the Taliban. Though the Taliban often ranks up shockingly high kills of civilians in suicide bombings, NATO typically shows a blatant disregard for civilian life in their techniques, and often their soldiers fire on civilians for little to no reason. It's sad that they're willing to bomb an area to kill 10 terrorists at the cost of 100 civilians.

Asking whether the Taliban or NATO have killed more civvies is difficult to answer, and kind of besides the point.

But it does seem like the Taliban really couldn't care less whether they kill innocent people

The imperialists regularly bomb civilians and have undoubtedly killed many times the amount the Taliban has killed.

There is a reason most Afghans support the Taliban.. for all their faults they have not been massacring the Afghan people like the imperialists have.

I saw a documentary on TV the other day about these American troops trying to reach an old abandoned military base. As part of their campaign they blew up any buildings they felt like so they could get a good view of the scene. Some of them it was admitted still had people inside. The documentary was very standard 'journalist accompanying the brave boys' style, but it did contain a bit where a village elder was talking and he said that the people now supported the Taliban because the Americans had shown such disregard for human life. The Americans didn't see the problem in it because they accomplished their short term military task of reaching the base.

In other words, the imperialists are fucking clueless. They are killing countless Afghans and causing them to support the Taliban. It is almost certain that they will be driven out of the country.

Not only that but common check points are just infantry standing on a road firing warning shots.

That not only endanger local motorist but US troops as bullets can't stop a vehicle making the troops at road blocks sitting ducks to actually insurgents trying to attack it. No sacrificial vehicles and barriers to stop motorists before they can get close to the troops while police departments close roads with spike stripes, cones, flares and sacrificial vehicles not to protect motorists but to protect themselves.
