I've always liked CCR for some reason, even though they had about as much in common with "the bayou" as the Beach Boys did, LOL
Still, I don't hold that against them...some great Blues musicians came from the UK, which is thousands of miles away from the Mississippi Delta.

Could it have something to do with the fact that they wrote one of the best antiwar/working class anthems ever?

My dad actually saw these cats live... The lineup at the concert was (in order): Richie Havens, The James Gang, and Jefferson Airplane (who got booed off the stage because Grace Slick was so fucked up she made them sound like shit)... He said it was the first time he'd ever seen a guitar smashed on stage; Joe Walsh threw his into an amplifier, causing it to explode and shower the crowd in sparks, lmao...

And for whatever reason, this one comes close to being my favorite of all time from that era:

Nietzsche said that music and art is the great anti-pessimism force of life. I also like Boston, The Police, Genesis, Depeche Mode, INXS, Saga, Pink Floyd, Rush, Sound Garden, Smashing Pumpkins, Helmet. etc.
It seems to me that the music of the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, was a lot better than the music of our 21st century

CCR were a great band. I am a huge fan of classic rock. 1967-1974 or so were great years for music. I also love The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin, King Crimson, The Doors, MC5, The Stooges, The Rolling Stones, The Who, and others here and there.

I also like Rush a lot, they have a song and video called Subdivisions, which talks about about how modern industrial societies and cities turn people into conformist drones.

All my father listens to is classic rock from the late 60's to the late 70's. Plus some Motown stuff due to me mum. I kinda grew up on it.

Actually I do like CCR, but a lot of those 70s bands make me swallow my tongue. Pink Floyd puts me into a coma. I love a lot of British invasion and the American garage bands that followed that.
The Monks: anti-war US soldiers from the mid-1960s!

Look what's happenin on the streets
Got a revolution got to revolution
Now, Im daning in the streets
got a revolution
aint it amazing all the people I meet
got a revolution
one generation got old, one generation got sold
This generation got no destination to hold
Pick up the cry
Hey now it's time for you and me
Got a revolution Got to revolution
Come on now we're marching to the sea
Got a revolution Got to revolution
Who will take it from you
We will and who are we
We are volunteers of America

Click the "Share" button underneath the video on Youtube and copy/paste everything after the "=" symbol into the post field. Wrap the tags {YOUTUBE}{/YOUTUBE} around it. Job done. :)
Note: You'll of course have to change the {} to these [], but you wouldn't be able to see it otherwise...
