SDS has been acting in solidarity with the action. You should consider starting a chapter at your school if there isn't one already.

Go down to the protests, talk to people. Ask for help and information. Just get out there and explore, and bring a friend or two.

I agree, it is best that you go out there and join existing groups than fund another glorious People's Front of Judea. Still, I think your question had more to do with getting your partners to listen, in which case I would recommend approaching the undecided crowd. The ones that do not have a specific mindset pre-programmed into their worldview, and are thus more likely to listen up and take your side.
