I do not know exactly how I got it...but apparantly in mozilla there is a realplayer application...or perhaps it is the realplayer application itself that let me select the video for download in realplayer.....

Search: realplayer downloader...

It works on pretty much any video file embedded in any site. It adds a little popup above the video which can be freaking annoying at times....but it even lets me get video;s which are in a restricted personal environment such as social network sites. Which goes to show how f*-up privacy and personal info are on the web, I guess.

I have no idea if its in avi or not.

Internet data is stored in a special folder, depending on your operating system. Linux saves this data in a tmp folder. I think windows it's called internet data or something like that. Macs probably save them in a tmp folder too, since the basis of macintosh is BSD, an OS that basically preceded linux, and from which linux kernel is partly composed of, if I'm not mistaken. There are programs, like add-ons for firefox, that automate the process of getting the file from tmp and adding the .flv extension, but that is essentially what it amounts to. Now depending on your operating system, you want to reencode your flv file into an avi. Avi is actually just a container, the codec you choose depends on if you're going to be watching the movies on a DVD player or what. This all you decide when you find a good program that can convert flv's to avi's.

if you're using firefox, there's an add-on called "downloadhelper" when you load a video on youtube, it will instantly list all the various resolutions avaible (ex 360p, 480p, 720p etc..) just click on the one you want and it will start the download.

the majority of files on youtube are flv files, if you want them in avi (xvid), you'll need to convert them.

I used an application called Orbit. It keeps it in the nice compressed format too. Problem is that you need something like VLC player to watch them afterwards. I managed to get about 15 episodes of Ranma on a CD, let alone a DVD.

I use DVDVideoSoft Free Studio and RealPlayer Downloader. Both are free, but I think the former works better.
Have fun pirating!:star:

I use a program called "Youtube downloader" that I like a lot. Extremely easy and simple, and it can convert to all basic formats.

I always use Zamzar to rip audio from YouTube. It also apparently has the ability to rip video, but I haven't used that feature yet.
