Don't be put off by the Vice assocation, this is a good documentary. I advise some viewer discretion though.
Documentaries about drug abuse in deindustrialised areas will often focus on the lack of jobs and opportunities for young people, and while that undoubtedly plays a factor in people turning to hard drugs, I think other factors like alienation, depression, abuse, and the family are all too often ignored (despite going hand in hand with the "lack of opportunities" thing). I think this documentary avoids simply saying that everything would change if there were a few more jobs in Swansea.

I'm going to watch this in two parts. First half tonight and the rest some other time. I've got a lot of family over in and near Swansea.

That was really heartbreaking and informative. I advise others to watch this

Some one needs to open a can of IRA on the dealers asses.
What ever happened to the Welsh Republican Army?

Looks interesting.
There are a lot of youth suicides in south Wales too, not neccesarily drug related. Very few opportunities. The usual post industrial story. :(

Militant nationalists never really were popular over here. The Free Wales Army engaged in acts of sabotage, using bombs (a couple of them died setting one) against the national water infastructure in protest regarding the flooding of Welsh settlements to provide water storage for major cities in England in the 1960s.
After that the Sons of Glyndwr conducted an arson campaign against English owned holiday homes which they felt were a major contributing factor to the rise in house prices. Beyond activity such as this, there has not been much in the way of violent Welsh nationalism in recent decades.

While they are at it would you have them knee cap adulterers and other 'moral deviants'? Puritans like you have no place on the modern left, why don't you go crawl back under your rock?

Some one needs to open a can of IRA on the dealers asses. I'd like you to explain, in detail, how this will change the economic reality of south Wales which is, after all, what the actual problem is. While you're at it perhaps you'd like to tell us why introducing an armed gang of unaccountable thugs who believe they have a carte blanche to impose whatever they view as justice on whoever they view as degenerates through acts of intimidation and outright, foul, violence will improve the communities.
I suspect you won't do any such thing but will instead come out with your usual bloodthirsty arse-gravy.

Wales has a much lesser degree of any sort of violence compared to the rest of Britain and Ireland.
And the worst part in my opinion is that a lot of kids are getting into hardcore drugs when they're prepubescent.
