Comrade Nabih Awad from Awarta village in Nablus district was released on February 13, 2011 after spending a year and a half in administrative detention. He had been abducted in December 2009 as part of a series of raids and mass arrests targeting the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine in Nablus district, said Myassar Atiani, an activist dealing with prisoners' issues.

Comrade Khalid Abu Zarour, of Nablus city was also released on February 13, after serving his sentence of one year.

In addition, occupation military courts sentenced the prisoner Comrade Laith Abu Ghoulmeh to one year in prison and sentenced Comrade Hani Hanani to fourteen months in prison. Both were abducted in July 2010 in a campaign of raids and arrests in which eight members of the Abu Ghoulmeh and Hanani families were abducted by occupation forces. These abductions included Comrade Taghreed Abu Ghoulmeh who was released last month, and the prisoner Comrade Linan Abu Ghoulmeh, who was sentenced to six additional months in administrative detention just last month.

Leith is the nephew of Comrade Ahed Abu Ghoulmeh, accused by the occupation of being the commander of the Abu Ali Mustafa Brigades, the armed wing of the PFLP, and sentenced to life imprisonment in occupation prisons after he was kidnapped along with Comrade Ahmad Sa'adat, the General Secretary of the PFLP, as well as Comrades Basil al-Asmar, Majdi Rimawi and Hamdi Qur'an, from Jericho prison on March 16, 2006, where they had been held in a Palestinian Authority prison under U.S. and British guard following the PFLP's assassination of occupation tourism minister Rehavam Ze'evi on October 17, 2001 in retaliation for the occupation assassination of PFLP General Secretary Abu Ali Mustafa on August 27, 2001 in his Ramallah office.
