I'd post links, but I'm not able to do that just yet. Regardless, it seems the revolt is spreading further in the N. Africa/Mid-East region. Peoples' uprisings are continuing in Tunisia and Egypt amidst crackdowns, while new demonstrations and actions are occurring in Algeria, Yemen, Iraq and Bahrain. How far do you think this will go? The roots of these crises appear to be economic (and therefore political by extension).
Are there very many socialist parties/organizations in the region? If so, how developed are they? Also, any news you might all have would be much appreciated.

Union of Socialist Arab Republics!
I was reading about this, it's incomplete but promising news.

it does look like the entire region will be going through some changes, what's really going to matter is who comes out on top in the end.

Its gonna take something brutal to destabilize Iran.
they already dealt with protesters in the past, in a shameless agressive way.
Basijii are renown for their brutality and unortodox tactics.

No clue what they are talking about, but it sounds like some lame, nevergoingtohappen pan-arab socialist state.

Glen Beck? If anything a bourgeois revolution will take place. The 'westernization' of the middle east. At this point I don't see socialism manifesting, I'm not even sure if the region in general is industrialized enough, Iran is....perhaps India or Pakistan maybe.

India is moving on to become a very big commercial/industrial country, I would love to see some Communist party form.

I was being facetious about the Arab Socialist Republic.
I was being serious about the topic of the article being hopeful news though.
