View Full Version : John Zerzan on North Korea?

What is the anarcho-primitivist view on North Korea? On 23 Dec 2002, Rumsfeld revealed just how dark North Korea was at night compared to South Korea and I was thinking about whether primitivists like John Zerzan would actually support this and the absence of private cars?

Is this a serious question? What is the opinion of anarchists on an authoritarian nation-state which seeks to build nuclear arms?

You think because they don't have a lot of electricity that for some reason anarchists are going to support them in any way?

Not most anarchists, but some primitivists are really fucking stupid.

Zerzan is an idiot, no matter North Korea. Or more likely a hypocrite.

Zerzan is a crank.

Perhaps you should field this question to the Ludd-Kaczynski Institute of Technology (http://ludd-kaczynski-tech.webs.com/).

This question is completely ridiculous. Of course people with a hunter-gatherer society as their goal don't support North Korea because they have less electricity than South Korea.

Since when does anyone care about what primmies say?

And when did anyone see a primmie outside the internet? (i havent even come accross one in it)

If only it were so. There's a growing coeterie of these assholes in the greater Boston area. I think this is a disturbing development.

Incidentally, since you mentioned it, I have long been amused that the Luddites have such a thriving and complex internet community.

I cannot for the life of me understand how such groups acquire and maintain followings in 21st century. To me this would be like neo-slavery groups setting up shop. They are total lunatics, and think only in terms of perfect ideals. Its amazing people can organize so thoroughly around nothing else but their self-indulgence of their own sense of morality. Making yourself feel better - all that matters.

A better question would be why the hell is an Anarcho-Prmitivist on the internet anyway?

Man, this thread is so full of fail.

A better question would be why the hell is an Anarcho-Prmitivist on the internet anyway? They probably use the same justification that socialists use for charging for papers or having ads on a socialist site.

I've seen them both on the internet and in real life -- even though to be honest the guy in real life was more like an insurrectionary anarchist, who sympathised with primitivist thinking. That guy was pleasant though, especially compared to those I've met on the internet, where even actually genocidal primitivists get to openly speak their minds like everyone else.

It's not pretty.

Most of them are actually not explicitly genocidal, and claims that the collapse is inevitable anyway and will bring forth their Utopia. That is why they are so popular in the press I guess.

Most I've met in the real world have been urban, petit-bourgeois males who loved camping in nature, never washed and tried to breast-feed their babies.

To each his own.
