I recently came across this video from the Left Unity Conference which took place in Dublin on Feb 5th and included speakers from the Socialist Party, Sinn Fein, Labour, the Worker's Party, PBP and Fis Nua.
I found this analysis from Eoin O'Broin, who I've always known to be a strong Leftwing voice inside Sinn Fein, quite interesting and hitting on the head the weaknesses I've saw on the Irish Left in my time in political activism.
The most pressing issue for me is the correct assertion that the Irish Left, whether following revolutionary socialism of the CWI, the broad left repubicanism of Sinn Fein, or the social democracy of Labour, has failed to win the support of all but a small number of the workers and people they claim to represent.
Thoughts?
