So, I've been looking for books on a few subjects for quite some time now, but am yet to find them:
1) A good biography of Lenin, I've tried Building the Party by Tony Cliff, but have to say I found it rather disappointing, is there a fair biography of V.I. to be had? Oh, and a biography of Trotsky would be appreciated too.
2) A book on the Vietnam war and/or a biography of Ho Chi Minh. The war in Vietnam is something I've not studied thoroughly enough as of yet.
3) A book on how the transistion from feudalism to capitalism took place in Japan. With the strong feudal tradition it had, and the fast rate at which it industrialized, it seems like an intriguing subject.
My thanks in advance.

You do know that that is one book out of, I think, three, right?
Oh, and a biography of Trotsky would be appreciated too.
I would look into Issac Deutcher's biographies on Trotsky. I haven't read them yet but I've heard that they are good.
2) a biography of Ho Chi Minh.

Oh, and a biography of Trotsky would be appreciated too.

Lenin by Christopher Read is the "fairest" one I've seen in the U.S.A. yet.
