Chicago: Egypt needs to hear you this Saturday!
This Saturday, show the world that Chicago unites for freedom and an end to the repression in Egypt.
Join us for the Global Day of Action for Egypt.

Chicago, we need you to come out strong on Saturday, Feb 12th for the people of Egypt!
You're invited to stand alongside Amnesty activists all over the world by joining our Global Day of Action. This is a solidarity event you won't want to miss.

Amnesty International will be taking to the streets of several cities across the United States. We're organizing rallies, vigils, speakers and other activities aimed at showing solidarity with the people of Egypt and the wider Middle East & North Africa.
Our demands for the Egyptian government are clear:
- End the state of emergency
- Protect the right to peaceful protest for all people in Egypt
- Stop the violence unleashed by pro-government supporters
- Urge the unconditional release of all human rights activists
- Protect journalists and human rights activists trying to carry out their work
Regardless of whether President Mubarak remains in power, our solidarity demonstrations are very much needed. Egyptian protesters have been clear that their struggle is about more than just one leader: it is about demanding an end to repression. We stand with them in calling on the Egyptian government to respect and protect the human rights of the Egyptian people.
This message will also be carried by our fellow Amnesty supporters in Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Germany, Iceland, Japan, Mali, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Slovenia, South Korea, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the UK.
