Indonesian mob stone 3 people to death

Around 1,500 people storm a house in Banten province belonging to 20 members of the small Ahmadiyah Muslim sect and kill 3 of it's members.The mob were armed with stones,sticks and machetes.http://youtube.com/watch?v=8OQ9EwZLbHI.

The Ahmadiyah are a Muslim sect that are not recognised by the followers of mainstream Islam.The mob that caused the violence are also Muslim.:( The mainstream Muslim population in Indonesia have for a few years now been trying to get the Ahmadiyah branch of Islam banned which is where I suppose the violence stems from.

Why are they not considered to be part of the Muslim faith?

And if this is the case may the violence been caused by government involvement or by a general ambiguity on the part of the government which sets up a situation for this to happen?

Because they follow the teachings of some guy from a couple of hundred years ago, challenging the finality of the teachings of Mohammad. I think maybe this guy may have even made some Messianic claims, I'm not entire sure. Still, they consider themselves Muslims. Indonesia's central Islamic body - if I remember correctly - declared them 'deviants' a couple of years ago, and there have been a few incidents since then...

It's pretty disgusting. This minority is also persecuted in Pakistan. Bahai, of course, are treated this way in Iran, if with more subtle forms of oppression than such outright thuggery.
