I've recently come across this video in the context of a Bahamas discussion (German ex-leftist paper which still has some spread in Anti-Fa circles, and expressed solidarity with the EDL about half a year ago).

yeah... i can point out to series of links and videos with sieg heiling EDL members or well known nazis amongst their ranks. EDL is a broad church, but leadership doesnt seem to have much control over it and hence its a mix of all sorts of people, including very high number of BNP and nazi types.

This paper Bahamss- I suppose they are anti-deutsche then? Than would explain their "solidarity" with the DL (they probably getting erection seeing guys waving israeli flags..)

Yeah I know that the BNP and the EDL are having considerable shared membership.

Bahamas used to be Leftist, then they drifted away and towards the most absurd Anti-German positions imaginable (solidarity with the USA, support for the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan), but they have since then distanced themselves from the Left in general as well as from Anti-Germans in particular (a mutual distancing in both cases).

Their solidarity with the EDL stems from something different though. As far as I know, they see the EDL's Anti-Fascism as good, and consider the EDL's nationalism as a necessary evil.

The dutch strasserist NSA has been walking around with huge anti-fascist action banners, because national-socialism is socialist and anti-fascist according too these idiots. I think it should be pretty clear that not your own claims but your actions and core principles from your ideology determine where you fall on the political spectrum.

Oh, yeah, I have around antifa demos around dortmund a few times almost jumped or get jumped by what turned to be fellow antifa only to casually walk up to, what i thought to be antifa and ending up with an face full of fash pepperspray.
In the Netherlands you could at least see the difference because the fash would be in general notably more clean with clothes straight out of the dump. Germany not, I even have seen autonomous nazis with stretched earlobes etc.

EDL are an absolute joke, only not funny as they seem to be growing into a potential threat. If they can ever claim to be antifascist they should start attacking BNP/ C18 meetings etc (who are incidentally a far bigger threat to Britain than the handful of 'Islamofascists' in this country). I don't have anything against them ideologically, I just wish they'd extend their activities to oppose all religious extremists.

PS does no part of you see the irony of calling for banning the burqa or ranting about terrorists whilst wearing a balaclava?! srsly?!
