Why is it that you never see communist parties in the places they would be able to get support?
It seems to me the best places to base a party headquaters would be in the poorest housing projects and towerblocks, yet you never see any members of the so called vanguard in these places and you see the hatred of the system and energy of the youth in these places untapped.
Just looking at the makeup of many innercity estates, they have a high black/immigrant and poor white community, yet the only ones who seem to do anything is the far right, who manufacture race tensions resulting in intercommunal violence.
Yet these areas are the perfect, and perhaps only places in the first world revolution is achievable.
For those of us who have lived or hung around or even just passed through, its obvious that the contrast in these communities and the rest of the country is not only in wealth and employment, but also many social factors, like the lack of hope in many of the people living there, the anti establishment sentiment and the longing for something different by many of the folks.
Today the order of the day seems to be trying to paint the student protests red, and basically doing anything to convince ourselves we are still relevant.
Yet the places our ideas and militancy would be supported and a wealth of proletarian struggle could be channeled, is the one place the beige communist parties of the day will not step foot to even sell their raggedy ass paper.
I am sure a group of say 10 people could establish a party on a housing estate, run some community programs like free daycare for single parents and providing rooms for the homeless etc, just basic community programs to get the backing of the people.
When your actively supporting the people and partaking in their everyday small battles in life, you get their respect and you get their ear, when you have their ear you can talk and get them down with the future we all want.
These places also have the advantage of being the perfect place when things heat up, vast concrete jungles, the perfect place to hold political power, not easy to move around in for the police but easy for us to blend in.
With a branch in each project and housing estate building up the party and building a solid base with a view to consolidating power and creating free areas where the party holds sway.
