View Full Version : What should I do?

I am pretty annoyed at the moment. Basically I have a comrade from another high school a bit younger than me who has been through tough times a lot in his life so far and been bullied by people a lot. Him and his best friend are really passionate about politics and seem to attract a lot of attention. I found out today that he'd been punched in the face by this really right-wing racist kid at his school whom he and his friend (another comrade) know and used to associate with. The teachers at their school are mostly fucking useless: when he got hit the teacher said 'oh don't worry, he was annoying anyway blahblah' and nobody was even talked to harshly for it. My sister goes there and had to deal with a lot of lumpens who beat her up for fun until she finally got restraining orders against numerous girls. Practically all except one of the teachers sat back and did jack shit.

The same racist arsewipe I spoke of before went into the house of the other comrade I mentioned briefly and tore up leaflets we were going to help distribute for an upcoming rally that he had printed.

Normally I wouldn't involve myself with other comrades' personal lives but they're good friends of my sister's and I really don't like seeing this kid getting attacked, especially for his political views (to illustrate the atmosphere of this school, there are at least a couple of rabidly Zionist teachers who call pro-Palestine students racists right to their faces there, IMO it seems like a pretty fucked up place).

As a fellow member of a leftist group I don't like to mindlessly advocate violence as a solution and I can't physically intervene without being most likely charged with assault (it's a different school to mine, and I don't have time or the means to go following these people up IRL). What would the best thing to do or bit of advice to give to these younger comrades be in this case?

Sorry for the abundance of harsh language but some people really get me pissed, and I apologize if this seems like a stupid question.

Can your comrades/sister learn a martial art? Can they change schools? Can they arm themselves (very extreme, but can also just be pepper spray or sth)?

I don't think any of these are practical for these kids. Pepper spray is legal to purchase here, but totally illegal to carry and use.

They need to keep their own conduct in order- sit down with teachers that they trust and explain it- if it continues or if there are no teachers that they trust they need to meet with the head of the school- if there are further incidents take legal action. There's no reason to put up with that shit- also fuck the police. The approach needs to be very deliberate and should have documentation of every incident- dates and times.

Have your sister or friend that attend the school email the principle informing him/her the they are being harassed and in assaulted. Wait. If nothing happens, send another email. Wait. If that does not work, form a protest to increase awareness of how dangerous the school is. Inform the news that you would like your protest covered. Get the emails that were sent on the news. Even if your protest is small, this will have a big impact.

Very much this.

Also do the martial art thing (check with Bullshido) seeing as this shit goes on outside school too. It'll help with self confidence and shit.
