Can someone plz further me on Caribbean politics..

Okay so far, I know there's the PNC and PPP Groups in Guyana, but why exactly is the political systems so divided throughout the caribbean? Is it because of race? (because the Caribbean's got indians, africans, portuguese, chinese, etc)...

Also, what about in its east sectors, such as Barbados and such? Is the Caribbean's politics the same throughout the entire region? Or does it differ from country to country?
