The Man

I really don't understand his response to the objection against communism.. the objection was "If the existence of each is guaranteed, and if the necessity of earning wages does not compel men to work, nobody will work. Every man will lay the burden of his work on another if he is not forced to do it himself."
So what was Peter Kropotkin's response to that statement? What ways did he think we could stop that from happening in a communist society?

Kropotkin stated that the incentive to work comes from the inherrent in the conscious satisfaction in doing the work. It shouldn't be forced by negative motivations but should be made meaningful and agreable. his view was that work should be fun :-) and should hold status and meaning.
He said we do not enjoy work now because it is negatively motivated and as such we are not able to enjoy it and put meaning in the activity itself. We have to work in order to survive...not in order to conrtibute in a meaningful way.
(He also stated that if someone really, really didn't want to do anything while still very able...he could be confronted with disapproval and eventually be ostrasized)
Kropotkin views man as inherrently good and altruisticly motivated.
