I just want to say that I have been doing a lot of reading and I am now convinced that Marxism is better than Capitalism.

That's cool, and I somewhat tend to agree with it (tho I'm not really a Marxist).
But no "isms" are better than any "isms" at all

Well that's good, I guess! What made you finally decide this?

Capitalism is based on profit I think people should come before profits as Socialism says profits money Capitalists get could be used to fund social services for the people and other useful things and needs.

Yes I have been a Democrat and a Liberal for a long time and I think being a Progressive is not radical enough for me also Democrats Im talking about the American Democratic Party does not call for Worker Ownership of the Means of Production. I think the Democrats are just a Bourgeois party like the Republicans.

Just wait until we start confusing you with all that talk of Trotskyism and Maoism and Anarcho-Communism and...and...and... The quest (and confusion) has only just begun!

No, no, the awesome that belongs to you is awesome, what's wrong with that? :)

Well then it would have to say "Whose awesome?" as in the possessive form of the word who...
"Who's (who is) awesome" coupled with "Your awesome" assumes that the awesomeness in question is a subject, which as we all know is grammatically and metaphysically ridiculous.

nono. Your awesome (that thing you have called an awesome) is named awesome. Which means you own a person.... you're a slave holder.

I see. I just needed to open my mind a bit and realize an actual person was involved. Slave master mentality I suppose.

Relatively speaking, a lot of reading. If you've never read a book in your life, reading a Wikipedia article would constitute 'a lot of reading'

This could also have been doing a lot of reading, namely, reading our responses to those 170-odd posts he's made between joining this site and deciding that this is where he belongs :)

That puppy was probably dead when that photo was taken. It has been stuffed, had it's eye sewn shut and has metal rods holding it's paws in place, shit it was probably drowned in a river just to make that picture.

This is probably the most politically insightful and relevant thread in OI since the infamous Why did the ussr end the way it did? (http://www.revleft.com/vb/why-did-ussr-t148781/index.html) :)

Same story with me, it was hard being at a Democratic Party HQ showing support for Malcom X and the Black Panther Party.

But capitalism is the real world; Marxism is a pointy-headed ideology. You're comparing apples and oranges IMO.

Another assertion with no argument from Trivas. Let's all scramble to pile up mounds of evidence disproving it that will not even be looked at :tt1:

Neither is this an argument but only a bare assertion on your part, sir/madam.

Yeah you can tell from the shadow its been carefully arranged for the photograph. Complete opposite to lolcats etc.

Trivas, over and over again when we've had discussions, you make a baseless claim, fail to defend it, and then simply ignore arguments taking apart your point.

If you want to be taken seriously saying things like "sir/madam" or making use of your thesaurus is'nt gonna cut it, actually making arguments with evidence and reasonings will.

Capitalism is based on profit I think people should come before profits as Socialism says profits money Capitalists get could be used to fund social services for the people and other useful things and needs.

Unfortunately for the socialist, a profit can only be accrued when people acquire what they need and want.

Its the only rational way to measure the value of production

Production for profit is, as it were, "Production for people."

No doubt these views are very unfashionable hereabouts.

You mean an argument like the following?:

Oranges are better than apples.

Why don't you just back off me with your tireless irrational tirades ("with evidence and reasonings"), RGacky? Just ignore me, sir.

That would be kinda funny if it was Gacky that said that. Or if you ever did back up your assertions with any kind of data, theory, or argumentation.

You expect us to "see the truth" merely because you asserted it? It was merely asserted to us every day of our lives. You need to come with something a little stronger than "it is because I said so."
Idk, maybe you still live with your parents, so that kind of reasoning works on you... ;)

I think the Democrats are just a Bourgeois party like the Republicans.

Indeed, the Dems and Repubs are just different factions of the neoliberal party. You won't find many in either party who denounce neoliberal policy. It's amazing how similar the two parties operate while presenting themselves as the opposing force to the other.
