So I was sat in a bookshop reading Dune (rock!) and I cast my eyes around. I see Eduardo Galeano - there was a thread way back when about Open Veins - has a new book out. So yea, natch, I buy it.
It's a narrative of all oppression and resistance through all history. It's told in mini-chapters about two paragraphs long. There are various motif chapters like 'The Ages of,' 'Palace Art,' and 'Family Portrait.'
Naturally, there's a lot of detail in the Spanish conquest of the Americas, but it's totally global in outlook. A brilliant book. Buy it. Or bother your librarian to order you in a copy.
