Hi all!

I come from a family of capitalists, CEOs, business owners and managers. I've known for a long time that capitalism was exploitation but I thought it could be bandaided via social democracy and its politics. I've recently come to change my mind that it completely needs to be overthrown and replaced with something else.

What is that something else? Well, Marxism never really appealed to me personally (although I have no qualms against it) but I've been reading a bit and it seems that anarcho-syndicalism would best describe my beliefs. I've always been heavily pro-union and I'm not exactly in favour of the state, especially how it currently stands.

What's the scene like here? Well, there aren't many anarchist organizations here. We do have quite a bit of social justice organizations, like OCAP (Ontario Coalition Against Poverty) and ARA (Anti-Racist Action) and some very small Marxist organizations. That's pretty much the scene here.

I found this board about 6 months ago when someone referred me here when we were having a discussion about capitalism. I've lurked here and there and only decided to register yesterday.

That's about it for now. Take care all and I hope I can contribute something worthwhile to the discussions taking place here.

Hello, and welcome. Fellow Anarcho-Syndicalist, here. Are there any other theories or ideologies that appeal to you? Personally, I'm a mix of the aforementioned theory and Luxemburgism. Used to be a Social Democrat, until I realized how reactionary and opportunist it was. Hope to see you around these boards.
