View Full Version : Web as a stairway to communism?

If we could somehow create a huge website, where people could send in their own articles, have its own forum (like this) a good news section, a chat room and a great information center (like marxism.org) in one website. If we could reclamize this site to an immense degree :) and pull off a great design and stuff, maybe it would lure all communists socialists and anarchists on the web, and maybe even starting an international revolution... THAT would be cool.

Any comments on this dream?

Isn't that pretty much what World Indymedia is about?

I believe (and hope) that will happen one day. Our U$ schools brainwash their students to think negatively towards socialism, communism, and nations with those idealogies. Such a website would easliy refresh the minds of brainwashed students.

If anyone are planning on starting an political leftist informational/community website, I could help anyone out. Allthough I know nothing about coding I am pretty damn good at Dreamweaver!

It would be cool if we somehow could create a team of the most experienced coders and web designer communists on the web to create like the ultimate website... Like Proletarians of all nations, Unite- on the web... ;)

Who started up the internet?

The CIA.

CIA and Universities. Don't forget the universities, because it was college kids that wrote half of the original coding. Also, they gave it away for free. The department of defence's best and fastest way to send information that can be obtained anywhere. They gave it away for free, everything about it, all of the information, for free. Obviously they have something better. Much better. Even my conservative father that strays away from conspiracy theories agrees with this point. The internet is a forgotten project by the CIA and FBI. They have something better, something that is possibly scary .

The CIA and FBI have psycic thought control scanners, or so I hear, and are able to put thoughts into your head telepathically. That's why I never take off my ray-reflective tinfoil hat.

Oh, uh oh, where'd my hat go.

Oh come on, I don't think the government would give away something that allows unlimited free speach without having a back-up. Unless I have been to cruel with my thoughts on the government. And they are just looking to make a nice little world for us.

One, I would like to see that idea of your become a relaity.
Two, maybe the internet is an illusion that is put in front of our eyes by the government. Sort of a matrix?

Well, as you all said, either the CIA has a backup plan for the internet or something, or they have done a "stupid" act since the internet is the perfect way to create a revolution not only local, but for all "civilized" nations. Also, since the internet gives great freedom to the people, we must use this to our own good. Someway or another.

Im afraid I have to disagree with you on that, cheguevara717. That is not the sollution, and if that is what communism will be like in reality, I'm not for it. We can't just ban all opposing ideologies. That would allmost be like what they are doing in texas, killing all prisoners. Instead of banning, we should have a great archive of informational texts and plus of course the old classics (Marx, Lenin and so on) and show people we are not just canibals eating our own kind. We are communist canibals eating our own kind!

No, mass working class action is the only way to change the world. Wouldn't a internet revolution be boring anyway. You'd be sitting there playing checkers on MSN and someone would send you an e-mail saying the revolution had happened, what an ant-climax! I prefer shooting fat cats and running a 4 times an hour Virgin Express service to Siberia.

I like the idea.
I would really like posting articles from time to time and such things nad helping to spread it. There should be regular contributions by the same people and others could post too.

Internet seems like a pretyy good place for this, it's free enough.
Indymedia is not good enough imho, it doesnt educate people and it is disorganised, and it is only for activists. We need something that can have some kind of big library and also educates people.

The problem would be that many WORKERS would not have access to this "super" communsit website. We need to work at the grass roots level to moblize the workingclass, people to poeple contact is key. It is so easy to lose yourself on the web, what we need is to use the internet as a tool, one of many, to reach out to the working class. Right now it just, for the most part, a bunch of bored middle class kids.

did you take out your fillings too?

seriously i think that there are many sites including this one that are doing and could do a good job of education on communism, ect. A year an a half ago I didnt know much and i think I have learned a lot since then, much from websites.
