Not that I am justifying Israeli occupation, but would it be better for the Palestinian workers to focus more on their rights and less on doing away with the Zionist regime? What I mean is, the latter seems impossible anyway, so fighting against it seems pointless and could endanger more Palestinian lives.
However, if Palestinian workers could organize a nonviolent struggle demanding more pay, less work, end to discrimination (and matters which concern human and social development rather than politics), that would not only make them look legit to the world but also help them cope with the situation better.
Your thoughts?

They should struggle against what their problems are, and right now, overwhelmingly, its the Isreali occupation, thats their big problem.
that would not only make them look legit to the world but also help them cope with the situation better.
Make them look legit to who? The people who don't accept the palestinian cause as legit (barring those in ignornace) are people who will never accept the palestinian cause as legit,

Of course their freedom from Zionist occupation and oppression is essential. The aim of the Zionist regime is to cripple and suffocate the occupied into submission while they continue to illegally expand their territory/borders, which has the real potential of making the Palestinians as a people and as a nation no more.
The effects an occupation can have on either an individual or a whole population can be very detrimental psychologically, which is why in reality in any occupation you will have resistance.... this is moral, ethical and ingrained into the psyche and can be for generations.
A mass worker's movement of course should be a priority, but with with the PA and their Zionist/USA agenda, this would have very little impact as well as Hamas's grip which is a reaction to brutal Zionist policies and denial of national liberation/self determination.
Social and economic growth is sadly dependent on Israel's position. They have very little intention of allowing any development, despite human rights groups and organisations being present and set up in the occupied areas fighting for so.

one secular, non-ethnic state that both sides can live in is what they should be working for. until then yes i agree with baby steps in higher standards of living and more rights.
