Who else here wears long johns? It was like -16 out tonight and I was waiting for the bus with a shitload of students, they were freezing their asses off but I was perfectly insulated.

Tl;dr: long johns provide win-sulation in Hoth-like conditions.

basically, it allows me to take off my pants at home and still be warm.

I wear thermo underclothing if its freezing and I'm working. When I was still squatting in damp unheated industrial buildings I wore them 24/7 in the winter.

I wear tights and/or leggings under my jeans when it's cold because I really feel the cold, but most people here don't bother.
