While good beards are certainly more adored around here, a good stache is always good too. (note I have neither)

It fits some people, but I'd personally never ever have one except as part of a beard, as it looks just hideous on it's own. I wear a well-groomed full beard most of the time (I shave neck and cheeks), but as I don't own a trimmer at the moment I shave it all off like once a month to prevent it from becoming too santa-clausy.

Thank you last decade's fads for making things like flagpole-sitting and pet rocks seem like valid achievements in culture by comparison.

I think the next fad will be growing a mustache and then grooming and coloring it to look like a finger. Git er done, hipsters.

I've now fixed the typo I made. I obviously meant that I shave my neck and cheeks, not 'chins'. I have one chin, being an athletically built young man..

I think it depends on the person (and the moustache). Moustaches can look okay or terrible, although I'm not really that big on facial hair anyway.

Hell, any dictator really. If I was a dictator I'd be rocking aviator sunglasses and a handlebar mustache.Indeed, it's like some law of nature, all the biggest assholes of the male gender in history have had moustaches. I mean the really bad ones such as Hitler, most of the other nazis and fascists, Pinochet, my former boss at work who shall remain unnamed..

It's also true within the left; the good leaders such as Marx, Engels, Lenin, Trotsky, Che Guevara and Fidel Castro (while I disagree with the politics of the latter two in many ways I regard them with respect) all had either full beards or goatees while the bad ones were either clean shaven, or had guess what: moustaches.

Stalin who became a dictator, most of his cronies in East Europe, Raul Castro who is pushing for market reforms on Cuba, Chavez who won't go all the way and nationalise all the key industries -- all either had/have mustaches or are clean shaven. So if you are male, grow a beard, the sooner the better.

As long you are old enough for it to have started to grow properly, that is, otherwise do not grow a beard or you will look horrible.
