No I'm not talking about violence or anything so bare with me. My sister has been coming over and showing me all these stupid websites claiming some historical justification for Jesus. You know saying Jesus actually lived, that when he died there were earthquakes and thunder, etc. I noticed all of the sites she showed me looked like complete bs made up by random fundamentalists lying to make their view look acceptable. So I was wondering if it were illegal to make my own website and write a short essay made up of lies that make it look like the historical man Jesus Christ could have actually existed as a miraculous person and then at the bottom signing it as some made up person with a Ph.D in religious studies(or some made up title like that). The object would be to show it to her, see if she believes it, then tell her how I just made it all up and put it on the web so she can understand that anything can be put up on the web and that you have to take in information from it with a grain of salt. Illegal or not illegal?

I doubt anyone would give a shit enough to report you if it were illegal anyway.

While to the best of my knowledge, it is not illegal, I dont see a good reason for doing it.

It seems like a wholly un-necessary waste of time.

My recommendation would be to calmly and rationally explain your position, clarifying any mis-communications or mixed signals. If she accepts it, you've calmly and rationally helped dispel burdensome beliefs and possibly earned some measure of gratitude from your sister. If she refuses to accept or listen, no amount of trickery you can engage in is likely to sway her beliefs and you're more likely to create a schism and bad blood between you two and have nothing to show for it.

Save your energy, treat her and her beliefs with respect.

Depends on the country. If this is the EU, Australia/NZ, America or Latin America you are fine. If this is saudi arabia you and your sister will be banished if not beheaded for apostasy. If it is North Korea you shouldn't be on the internet unless your name begins with Kim Jo and ends with ng Il, GTFO.

And in many countries this would probably count as preaching and missionary activity, which you need a government permit for.
