Who do you think is the best comedian from a marxist perspective? In my opinion I think that its George Carlin. If you have ever seen his acts , you would know why.

You know what was horrible? "The best of George Carlin" DVD I got from Netflix. Seriously left me thinking "Who the fuck decided this was the best of George Carlin and where do they live so I can shoot them". It was pretty horrible for something with Carlin in it. Same thing with "The Best of Snoop Dogg" CD I got from my sister when I was younger. Didn't even have Gin and Juice on it :cursing:

As much as Bill Hicks is my all time favorite comedian, Mark Steel is definitely more Marxist. But Hicks is still the greatest of all time. Carlin is also godly.

Also, one quote I just read on his site:

"If it weren't for the shame of the rich there would be no charity."

Well the best current Marxist comedian is Mark Steel.

Bill Hicks is good and George Carlin is also funny.

I like a lot of the current US "alternative comics" (but mostly because I absolutely loathe 99.9% of most US stand-up). It largly breaks with the most stale US stand-up conventions and there are the occasionally brilliant biting political bits by some people like David Cross ("like calling Dennis Miller the jester of George Bush's imperial court or telling the story of eastern european miners digging up gold to pay for their sick child's medicine and then that gold going to a fancy yuppie restaurant to be an odorless tasteless topping to a cake so a day-trader can shit it out the next day). But mostly it's absurd in content and liberal in outlook, so I wouldn't go for these comedians for political humor - more for the social satire and pop-culture references.

"Git Er Done!"

Larry the Cable Guy is truly the voice of the everyday common millionaire entertainer. Really he's salt of the earth kinda people who knows firsthand the struggles and frustrations that come with the real toil of getting up each day and telling really incredibly condescending jokes about poor people, women, and farts.

That is called satire. You take the other sides position and take it to its logical end. Then you watch as they cheer for you.

if comedy is a product of culture, and all culture is bourgeois, then all comedy is bourgeois.

Louis CK is hilarious though.

I made a thread about Joe Rogan which was stupid since there was already a comedian thread lol.

Anyways, he does have some talk some good sense sometimes, but he isn't any leftist by all means, more of a liberal. But hey, I'll take what I can get from comedians and actors.
