I love when I listen to an album and the last song and/or the last part of the song is that epic it sends shivers down your spine. Sometimes the best song is the last song too. What are some of your favorite album enders?

Here are some that were memorable to me:
(Some of these are better listened to when actually finishing the entire album)

...I just noticed, as much metal that I love, most my favorite (metal) albums don't have good enders :(

The end of Yanqui U.X.O. by GY!BE is one of the ones that comes quickly to mind. The way it builds up dissonance and then abruptly cuts it off always struck me as being particularly well done. It isn't so much the feeling of listening to it so much as when it is over that draws me to that portion of the piece, but it is more or less the same concept.

Explosions is certainly another good choice, though I never really thought of their stuff being epic so much as it being slightly above average post rock.

Explosions isn't as great as some people make them seem to be, but Your Hand In Mine is a standout track, I think at least. I think The Conspiracy of Seeds is the better post-rock choice I listed :)

That GY!BE is good too, they have a lot of solid pieces.

I sort of found it hard to really get into 65dos, a lot of their songs were just a bit too abrasive for my taste I suppose, but they do have a few really good songs regardless. I think the thing with Explosions though is that they are the only really popular American post rock band, and that has given them a lot of undue attention. It is not that they are bad or even mediocre, it is just annoying that they generally are better known then other bands in the genre like Godspeed, Do Make Say Think, Silver Mt Zion and Mono that are on an entirely different level. The fact that they have had their sound ripped off by hoards of other bands doesn't really bear too well for their originality either.

Completely true. I know a lot of people who don't listen to any post-rock except for Explosions. It's ridiculous.

Man, I forgot about Do Make Say Think. So good!
