No they don't. No country deserves economic sanctions. It ultimately effects everyone presiding in the country - meaning, not just bourgeois or bourgeoisie, but also working class and peasants.

OP, you're from Ontario, so I have to wonder, why don't you also demand sanctions on average Canadians since the Canadian state supports Israel (nevermind the participation in the war in Afghanistan etc.)?

Personally I think we should put everybody in prison because everybody at some point in time might have supported horrible people...or may support horrible people in the future.

Now...since everybody is in prison anyways...it might as well be a free prison ;)

WTF? Israel's labouring classes are split on vicious racist lines, and ??? peasants ??? Who are they? A few right wing settlers who spent thousands of dollars to fulfill an apocalyptic dream?

The Palestinian people have been consistently excluded from both agricultural and industrial production.

The sanctions on Iraq were terribly immoral. Sanctions on Israel MUST be moral. The aim is not to blame or villify, but create foundations of justice and democracy.

I don't see how sanctions on Canada would affect a whole on this issue. Given that we are Israel's best friend I wouldn't oppose any trade sanctions regarding this issue. I would be friendly to a cultural/academic boycott and most of my artist and academic friends would be open to one as well.
