He was a black child actor, that starred in a mundane sitcom. He has some kind of disease that kept him looking like a small child even into adulthood.

Now, of course, he is running for Governor of California in the recall election.

He is a very short man, a midget. He is running for governor in California at the moment.

He has appeared on TV many times in the U.S.

EDIT:beaten to it

It was an 80's TV Show, I forget the exact name. He's also been in numerous movies (names I can't remember) one of the most memorable is one where he plays a child genius. Besides that, he isn't a midget, he just has a kidney disease which stopped his growth. He's also known for saying really odd things in a sort of odd way, I can't really put it into words.

Wasn't his show called Different Strokes? Or maybe it was Diff'rent Strokes?
He is most famous for his catchphrase, "Whatchyou talkin' bout, Willis?"

Thanks for the responses guys, I know so very little about US politics, but I guess it's not really that useful.

I still prefer him to most of the other candidates - the guy is really anti-Bush and hates the American media giants and such. He was in "Postal 2" btw

I saw a special on him a few years ago and was fairly impressed. It was mainly interviews with him and people that knew him about the difficulties in his life and the money grabbing corporate bastards that stole his life away. He is REALLY bitter about the whole child star thing - has some very hateful words for the media industry in America.

Basically they used him - figured "Hey - here is a kid that can play a kid forever - gold! Let's swindle him out of his money though..."

Of course then there was the illness and all that - and he had to take menial jobs to be able to eat and was of course hassled by all the customers so he kept losing his job for being too famous and weird looking.

And, I dunno, the guy just seemed really likable - so I followed him off and on for a few years now and perk my ears up when I hear he is doing something other than having a miserable time. He was on the Simpsons a couple of years back - that was pretty funny too :)

Of course he is no hero or thinker or politician - just not a half bad guy I think - and a guy that had some pretty lousy luck.
