I am a new member of RevLeft & I see that I can be deleted unless I post occasionally
I am therefore posting & intro'ing myself
Yes, my name is Lev Sinestra. Yes I know "Sinestra" means Left. No I didn't pick it
--- My grandfather came to Canada from Italy and his last name which was longer but similar to Sinestra was too hard for the official to say or write so Canadian immigration re-named him & that's how we got our name
--- I am very pleased that I can rightfully claim to be Lev the Leftist
I do not belong to any left-oriented political group altho I volunteer from time to time at a co-op; I joined the SLP as a youngster but didn't stay
I participate with 2 others in a regular blog called "Dissenting Democrat"
The other 2 are not Socialists but we get along well and I tend to move the discussion leftward. For me "Democrat" does not mean the party but Democracy in general

I am influenced by Marx but do not consider myself a Marxist. Very influenced by Autonomist-Marxism, Council-Communism, Libertarian Socialism & DeLeonism
--- I want a Workers Democracy in which we all own & manage our workplaces; I see no purpose in exchanging a capitalist boss for a bureaucrat-boss
