Hey,
This is the kind of topic everyone loves, because i'm listening to everyones ideas (yes, even the stalinists). What would you need to set up a communist/socialist/anarchist community in a developed country? Would it work?

Now Talk

Hey,
If you brought along a harcore set of believers, and didn't show any beligerancy towards that state the surrounded you, any action against you would be extremely unpopular. For defence you could have a militia.

A workers based, directly democratic assembly should the the ultimate objective of any attempt to create a so called "soviet"

If we stuck to a "Representative" democracy then the aspects of current capitalist rule would remain, corruption, buerocracy and iniffeciency would plague a socialist state.

Transition would be difficult, while the workers PRODUCE the goods, they have never actually DECIDED what is produced and in what quanitities are needed. During this period of "education" and transition a representative system made up of those "in the know" may be neccesary.

Even then the council should be entirely democratic.
