whenever i go to certain clubs i always see guys dressed in boot cut jeans
who still thinks they look good?
obviously some people arent botherd about how they look and thats cool if thats them but im not on about them kind of people. people im on about probably think they are "good dressers"
thse people will spend lots of money on G-Star or some other rebore shit brand thats expensive but wear weird looking bootcut jeans, often over those tiny plimsol shoes

Perhaps I don't actually know what bootcut jeans are, but I imagine they'd look pretty ridiculous over plimsol shoes. If you're going to wear bootcut jeans, wear them with... boots? Sometimes skinny jeans are difficult to get over my boots so I can see why they might be practical.
Loads of "fashionable" outfits look pretty ridiculous. The people you're talking about will really cringe when they look back at photos of themselves in a few years.

I never need bootcut jeans because I don't wear boots. Surely one of the ugliest trends in men's fashion: those low little boots that they all wear at the moment. The only thing worse is men in Uggs (or anyone in them, for that matter, but men wearing them are especially bad).

My bf dragged me into topman the other day and trust me, they were the least stupid trousers there. There's one designed to look like a carrot or something and there are arc trousers. And worst of all, they were selling braces (suspenders to Americans. Strips of elastic that you buckle onto your beltline and wear over your shoulders.) Hipsters are not allowed to wear braces. I have proof that I've been wearing them a while. And there are supposed to be three buckles! Not four! It should make a Y-shape on your back

People wear boot cut jeans because:
1. They are an idiot and don't know anything about jeans.
2. They are wearing boots.
98% of the time it's #1.
I never need bootcut jeans because I don't wear boots. Surely one of the ugliest trends in men's fashion: those low little boots that they all wear at the moment. The only thing worse is men in Uggs (or anyone in them, for that matter, but men wearing them are especially bad).
WTF are you talking about? Oh and Uggs surprisingly makes slippers that are comfy as HELL (and don't look like shit).
Google images tells me that bootcut jeans are the same as bell bottoms. Is this correct?
Bell bottoms flare out at the bottom. Boot cut jeans are tapered from the knee down to be able to contain boots.
BTW whoever posted JNCO's wins the innernette. :D

i go to rio fairly often to visit family, and it's not that lovely. not sure if you know the neighborhoods, but copacabana -- where my gramma lives -- is kind of a musky refuge for middle class old people and drunks, and leblon, where the rich part of my family dwell, is just snobby as fuck. sure, it doesn't smell and is fairly clean, but it's horribly over-priced and filled to the brim with rich assholes.

As has already been pointed out, dressing well needn't have anything to do with money, and many people who wear bootcut jeans tend to pay quite a lot for them. G-Star Raw boot cuts can cost well over £100 despite being absolutely disgusting, and people who wear them tend to think that they are the creme de la creme of fashion. It's the same with those Ed Hardy t-shirts (people who wear boot cuts seem to often wear Ed Hardy) - they look awful and they are expensive.

Are brogues a staple of preppy style? Yes. Did I say only preps wear brogues? No. In fact, you are the one who said brogues were not preppy. Which is untrue, all I said was my preppy friend bought brogues.I meant that they aren't necessarily preppy, geez.
You used the sartorialist as a refrence, why would I not assume that you follow it?Just because I follow Sartorialist doesn't mean that I adhere to any rigid Sartorialist style. I've read Rand in the past, too, that doesn't make me a fascist.
Why are you so upset about this? Because I like yelling at you about things that aren't that important.
