Orchid, pg. 99, all that shit; it's awesome and more people should listen to it.

I'm afraid it appears I have never listened to an Orchid or pg. 99 song released in the 90s, though I like both bands.

It seems the only truely 90s Screamo I listen to is Swing Kids (which are awesome by the way), Saetia (goes without saying), and Loxiran (great German Screamo with spoken word vocals and somewhat leftist politics).

hell yeah I used to be really into this stuff but I stopped listening a while ago for some reason
I guess this band wasn't around in the 90s but it's inspired by the same style

I started this list off as solely 90s bands, but sadly a lot of screamo bands started around 1996-1998 and existed until 2000-2002. I tried not to push it pass 2002, and have bands who mainly recorded in the 90s. All of them formed and mainly performed in the 90s.

Reversal of Man
You and I
Combatwoundedveteran
Union of Uranus
Portraits of Past
Jeromes Dream
I Hate Myself
Makara
One-Eyed God Prophecy
The Vida-Blue/Ten Grand
Love Lost But Not Forgotten
Eclipse of Eden
Cobra Kai
Index for Potential Suicide
Seven Days of Samsara
Republic of Freedom Fighters
Force Fed Glass
Harriet the Spy

The best part is, that kid kind of looks like me around that age.

Touche Amore played a town about an hour from me this summer (the town is a semi-well known gay beach town) and on the same day the Aryan Nations had some kind of rally. I had to work, didn't get to go to either event.:crying:

Notice the "Join The Anti-Nazi League" sprays!

I don't know what I liked most about seeing Touche Amore live. The fact that the music is awesome, that I stood right in front of Jeremy all gig, that everyone (the whole crowd and at parts members of the band) was perma hugging, that everyone sang along, that the band was all "FUCK YEAH SQUATTED SOCIAL CENTERS" or the fact that it was my first gig without a stage (Germany is that sad, yes). Still, I laugh at you for missing it!

Yes, the band Khayembii Communique is where I got my username from.

Just a small list from my comp. This'd be like 5 times longer if I went through all my albums but I'm too lazy.

Converge?

Anyways, lately I've been listening to a lot of late 90s/early 00s metalcore, which is kind of related to this stuff. (think, first Norma Jean album, On Broken Wings, etc)

Converge?Converge was started in the 90's. I tend to lump together hardcore/screamo stuff.

Converge is much closer to what you just called "disgusting" than to screamo, though.

On the topic of 90's/00's metalcore: FUCKING BOTCH! (given they sound exactly like Converge, but still)

Skramz and hardcore are definitely related, most of the mature people and adults I know who like hardcore like screamo (myself included).

That's fucking disgusting.

Ok...Converge and that kind of chaotic metalcore type sound is way closer to bands like the Chariot, the Banner, and early Norma Jeans than it is to bands like Pg 99.

Does anybody not understand the concept of 90s Screamo in a 90s screamo thread?

KC (and others) : I left a lot of those good ones out because... they formed in 2000 or later (see: The Kodan Armada, A Day in Black and White, Welcome the Plague Year, Red Knife Lottery, The Plot to Blow up the Eiffel Tower, etc.)
You know, because I thought this was a thread directed towards bands mainly in the 90s

Check my list everyone, lots of good bands! Some well known, some well forgotten! Some of those bands were so raging (see: Reversal of Man, Combatwoundedveteran, One-Eyed God Prophecy, LLBNF, etc.) the 90s were insane for this genre. Always blasting away, I love it.

This statement is not surprising in the least coming from someone who thinks Norma Jean belongs anywhere other than the trash.

Norma Jean still provides one of the funniest moments in music, ever.
