Comrade Taher: Al-Jazeera's Palestine Papers reveal Oslo process is nothing more than a road to liquidation
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine said on January 24, 2011 that it must be clear to all that the so-called "peace process" is utterly dead, saying that the Palestine Papers documents released by Al-Jazeera must demonstrate to all that this so-called "peace process" has always been only a means to liquidate the Palestinian cause.
Comrade Dr. Maher al-Taher, leader of the PFLP's branch outside Palestine, said that the Front has opposed the Oslo process from the very beginning, saying that these agreements have always undermined the Palestinian national cause. Comrade Taher emphasized that the goal of the Palestinian revolution is to liberate Palestine, and the Oslo process is nothing more than a distraction and a threat of liquidation. He said that even the Authority must officially recognize that the "peace process" is dead - that it has led to no state, no self-determination, no return, and no independence.
Comrade Taher said that the deeply dangerous concessions revealed by the Palestine Papers via Al-Jazeera only build upon the ongoing liquidationist character of the "peace process," including recognition of the existence of Israel, the abolition of the charter of the PLO, the rejection of the resistance and labeling it 'terrorism'. "We consider these revelations today a natural outgrowth of the entire process, that has always been based on humiliation and neglect of the fundamental rights of the Palestinian people."
Taher denounced Yasser Abed Rabbo and other PA leaders whose complicity in the 'peace process' has led to the current situation, noting that "These documents confirm that it is one path that links the negotiations under U.S. authority and the road map - from the Wye Plantation to the liquidation of the Palestinian cause."
