You and a roommate of mine would have a lot to talk about. She's kind of a Cuba Libre "aficionado" when it comes to a Cuba Libre. She's got all sorts of twists to it.

Vino, vino, and more vino. Cabernet sauvignon, chablis, pinot grigio, merlot, sparkling wines of just about about every type (alà cold duck, spumanté, etc.), chianti, riesling, and a few others.

I live in a wine region, so I drink a lot of that on the cheap. Tons of friends work at vineyards so in the summer they steal shit tons. Although, I prefer a fine bottle of sparkling Olde English to wine any day.

Cragganmore 12 year single malt scotch. Much less grassy than the Glenlivet I had earlier, with a very smoky finish. The aftertaste is kind of acidic but that might just be because I had a coffee/espresso before I poured a glass (dumb, I know, but I was too excited to wait an hour or two). The Glenlivet is much fruitier tasting as well. Right now I prefer the Glenlivet but I'm guessing that the Cragganmore is more complicated than the Glenlivet so it's gonna take a few glasses and maybe a few drops of water before I really crack it open and am able to fully enjoy it.

Love me some Amaretto and Sprite. Cheap and delicious.
I've tried plenty of beers, and I don't like most. The only ones I've really liked is the various flavors of Mike's Hard (Black Cherry, Hard Ice Tea, etc.) which apparently, to some macho douches, is considered a "girly drink" (as if I care...)

But I'm still relatively new to alcohol. Being a type one diabetic, I shouldn't touch the stuff at all.

Glenlivet's, Stolichnya, dark beer, Captain Morgan, absinthe, Courvoisier. I used to drink a lot of wine, but don't anymore. Generally the Barefoot brand. Decent and cheap. I also love the shit out of port wine, but haven't had it in months :crying:

I prefer my booze straight, but my favorite mixed drinks are:

Cuba Libra
Rum and Coke
White Russian (I can only handle one. Messes with my stomach in a bad way)
Vodka Tonic

I mostly drink a wide variety of beers, I do enjoy ales but lagers are more common here. I generally try to stick to low alcohol beverages like beer and wine, and enjoy dryer white wines, and champagne and sparkling wines as well. A glass of red wine can be good when eating red meat, though.

When it comes to strong alcohols, I enjoy the smoother -- Speyside and Irish -- single malt whiskies, and Mojitos made of proper Cuban rum. Austrian rum is good too, as is Jägertee (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jagertee) mixed with hot water, especially in the winter. But as when it comes to any strong liquors, I try to limit my consumption in favour of beer/wine in order to not get too intoxicated.

My favourite cocktail is Long Island Iced Tea, but I tend to drink cider (and sometimes wine) more than anything else. I drink stuff like Weston's ciders, or if the pub does a guest cider, I'll get that. Sometimes I also drink cider that comes in big plastic bottles. When it comes to spirits, I drink cheap vodka to get drunk (vodka doesn't really taste of too much to me so it's easy to get down), Morgan's spiced rum or Jack Daniel's (which I'm sure a lot of people who drink whiskey find incredibly offensive). I also have a weird liking for Red Stripe lager.

The only drinks I won't touch are Bacardi (due to vomiting it neat when I was 16/17) or anything with milk or cream in. I'm not a big fan of lager in general, either, or ale (although Jazzratt is going to try to change the latter).

I drink ale (and one day kayl will too, dammit), often the stuff from my local brewery. For the mass produced stuff I'm really quite fond of Wytchwood (Hobgoblin, Circlemaster and that) and Wells (Bombadier, Banana Bread and so on) breweries. I can enjoy a cheap lager as well, especially as they usually give a far better bang/buck ratio at the expense of taste - usually that'll be Tuborg or Kronebourg 1664.

Spiritswise I like whiskey, my preferred bourbons being Jim Beam and Morrison's own brand (once or twice a year I'll have WildTurkey or Knob Creek) and the only irish whiskey I've had being Jamesons (very nice). I also enjoy a good whisky, but rarely drink it as you can't get a good whisky on the cheap and single malt is always preferable [I'm not averse to a blend like Famous Grouse or Johnny Walker Black]. Finally I like gin, no favourite brands but I'll often have it with bitters to make a 'pink gin'.

I do drink other things like cider, wine, vodka, brandy, rum and the like but making this list comprehensive would take all day so I thought I'd cover the ones I drink most or enjoy most.

I've got a nice ale lined up for tonight, a Burns night special brewed by Shepherd Neame.

I did a list of my favourite beers for another forum:

Fuller's ESB
Duvel
Bishop's Finger
Chimay Brune
Guinness Foreign Extra Stout
Black Sheep

I drink a lot of Sam Smiths stuff because Samuel Smith pubs are the cheapest (cheaper than Wetherspoon!) and they're okay.

Same here, although in much fewer quantities. I'm a smoker by preference.

I'm a scotch man. Single malt scotch is my drink of choice, I couldn't name a favourite because there are so many different ones to choose from, and I don't think I've had a single malt that I didn't enjoy. I like brandy too, to a lesser extent, and champagne cognac.

Obviously those drink are expensive, so I usually settle for lager when in the pub. I prefer ale and would rather drink it, but I am a poor guy, so I end up with Fosters or Carlsburg more often than not.

I like red wine too, but its one drink that I can't seem to handle very well.

Red wine always gives me the worst hangovers for some reason, so I tend to stay away from it.

For beer, I like certain non-Miller-or-Bud domestics like PBR (people who pigeonhole it as a "hipster beer" can really go fuck themselves, honestly) and Hamm's. I like a few imports, too, and some local breweries sometimes have good stuff...one of the best beers I've ever tasted came from a local brewery in Utah, strangely enough.

For liquor, I usually like bourbon, either Bourbon Bulleit or Wild Turkey. In a pinch, Evan Williams is a decent, cheap alternative. I can't stand Jack Daniels.

beer is the definition of anti-revolutionary.
europeans drinking beer instead of water to avoid disease led them to be drunk and uncaring enough to decide to go out and try to conquer and enslave the world. without beer, their conscience may have stopped them from being okay with carrying out such brutality.
