I'd say Debs was either a Communist or near to being one. He often spoke for sabotage, terror against capitalism, and that sort of thing.

I was going to ask about Debs as well. He was pretty liberal. I know he is on Marxists.org, but so is Trostky and so is Bakhunin; and I'm not sure if you consider them to be true Marxists or not. A lot of self proclaimed marxists (Both from the Authoritarian and Libertarian side) don't like Marxists.org because of their wide selection of chosed figures. They have anyone from Goldman to Stalin. I don't have anything against you liking Debs. I think he was a great figures. But at times, you seem pretty anti-liberal; which Debs essentially was.

Wrong. The majority of the world is capitalist, in that given the choice between capitalism and changing to another economic system, they would choose capitalism. The reason being not that they support one small class exploiting the other, but because firstly they most probably don&#39;t know that this really happens(most people are generally discontent, but i doubt many would say this is because of how our economy is set up). And secondly due to them not knowing the alternatives. Ask the average person about communism and they will think Stalin and the Gulags, if you&#39;re a communist you&#39;ve probably found this yourself.
So these people suck? Its of no fault of their own, it is the ruling class, those who actively encourage Capitalism, who need to be opposed, not near enough the entire working class too. And what is your solution to dealing with them, if they suck? Are they not welcome in your version of communism? Sounds great.

Ya, it true. First impressions can turn people away. I wentr on the net a year ago trying to find a webforum dedicated to Communism, and coundn&#39;t find a site with it. This is the first one I found, and like a third of the forums are just a bunch of whino&#39;s usually cursing thier usual Mantras without much thought. It&#39;s not all that inviting to intellectuals- from all sides of the ideological spectrum.

As opposed to communism, which has brought peace and justice to all.

The truth is, communism is wonderful in theory. But when you try to apply it in reality, you hit such issues as human greed and self-interest, and considering the fact that these are the themes which have dominated human history, despite any efforts to change it, I think it&#39;s a more efficient solution to the economic problem that we attempt to utilise these instincts and put them to work in our society.

If you consider the problems with communist & capitalist systems over the years, I think you&#39;ll notice that the same things have been causing them - self-interest and incompetence. So how about we stop arguing about which system works better, & start fixing the problems that plague them both, with some good old-fashioned education?

I like having nice things too, but people take it too far.

I do not strive to be rich. I don&#39;t care about owning 3 different Mercedes. I don&#39;t need a mansion. Even if I won the lottery I would not have these things just because I believe it&#39;s a waste, not because of politics.

I would like to live in a reasonable. I&#39;d like to own a car that is nice, realiable. But no &#036;40,000 car, that&#39;s stupid. I would like to have luxuries, but I see no need to get so fucking out of hand with it. It amazes me how these celebrity types can complain about world peace and poverty and all this shit when they are sitting in million dollar homes. All these rappers who say they want to help change the ghettos, yet they own 3 Bentley&#39;s, 2 Hummers and a Ferrari. Why not live in a smaller house and have a few less cars, a few less housemaids, a few less gold fucking toilets, and give that money away ?

I see no need for this shit. I want to be comfortable and happy, I don&#39;t need that much to be happy.
