Hey there. My name is •••••. I am a Progressive Democratic Socialist AntiFas currently residing in Colorado, although I am originally from Texas. I am a Veteran of the Army, 6 years active duty, 1 year Reserves, deployed three times to Iraq. I was and currently am working as a Satellite Communication Technician (Smart-guy job).
I am a huge geek, and do quite a bit of PC gaming. I follow the news pretty strongly, mostly U.S. Politics. I am enrolled in college, but taking a semester off for sanity reasons.
My girlfriend and I live together with our three cats, whom are all sorts of fluffy awesomesasuce.
I really suck at these introduction things, so I will just answer questions you guys have, I guess.

Welcome, I'd suggest editing out your name if it is your real one. The internet, and especially this website, is a terrible place to let people know personal information like that. Anyway, my girlfriend is from Denver and I love visiting there. I'm looking at DU for graduate studies right now so I may be out there in about a year. What are you studying? Also, are you involved in any revolutionary leftist orgs or tendencies in broader social democratic orgs?

Welcome, what kind of revolutionary politics do you agree with?

Kayl, Thank you for the warm greeting:).
Philanchez- I am currently studying Informatin Security and Network Security. I am taking a break for a year, due to my job. I am attending a community college, but plan on going to CTU once I finish my associates. As for organizations, I am a member of a few not so revolutionairy ones like NOW and Foxhole Atheists, but between school, work ( I work night shift, so all of my day time is dedicated to sleeping) and maintaining a successful relationship, I bairly get time to relax. Fortunately, I will be moving to a more...managable shift in the next few months, so I will be able to participate more in organizations.
Theredson- As for politics and philosiphies, that is something I am still working on defining and refining. I am pro-labor union, anti-corporation, and conflicted on globalization. I am all for social programs and helping those less fortunate...I am an atheist and anti-racist...I strongly believe that non-violence and pacifism don't solve anything, and while idealistic, aren't pracitcal. I am a utilitarian.
I don't know if my philosiphy has a name, but I am hoping to grow and discover more different ideas through interaction with you guys :).
Edit: Also, I am a member of the Church of the SubGenius.

That's awesome, and most of your politics sound pretty good. What have you read, as far as the theories of the revolutionary left goes?

Really, I have been lacking in that department. I read The Communist Manifesto in high school ( We had to give a speach on someone famous whom we admired, and I chose Karl Marx), but for the most part I've read on Atheism and theology...and all of George Carlins stuff. Also, Chuck Palahnuik.

I'd suggest beginning your studies with "Principles of Communism" by Frederick Engels. It's basically the world's first communist FAQ. "Marx For Beginners" by Rius is pretty good too. It's actually a comic book that presents Marx's ideas in a fairly simple and straightforward way.

I'd recommend "The Meaning of Marxism" as well. It's a pretty good digest of general Marxist theory in an easy to read format.

Hey again guys!
AFTY- No, I absolutely suck at Real Time Strategies. I always end up getting my ass handed to me in a very decisive way. I mostly play City of Heroes, DC Universe Online (most recently), the Fallout Series, Team Fortress 2, and a few other games here and there.
Revolution Inaction- I have studied quite a bit on Anarchism, especially in my younger years, and simply don't find it to be a viable system. I see it as an Ideal system, wehre people can govern themselves, but as it stands, people are too lazy, stupid and seditairy. I look at people like the "tea party" and see what is the absolute worst in humanity. Anarchy would have to be something that humans would eventually grow into, through systems like socialism or communism, as the shock would create the violent anarchy. We would most likely see a system of rule by strenght, leading to facism and warring tribalism.
Philanchez- I like the initial impression of Marxism, a workers rule of sorts, but it is something I will have to do quite a bit more delving into. Thanks for the resources, I will read them in my off time ( Just started my work-week, joy of joys).
Fawkes- HEY!

wtf does the tea party have to do with anarchism?
Anarchism is not simply an end goal, it is a method of getting there.
Anarchy would have to be something that humans would eventually grow into, through systems like socialism or communism, as the shock would create the violent anarchy.
This makes no sense, anarchism is a kind of socialism, and many anarhists are communists, and what do you mean violent anarchy?
We would most likely see a system of rule by strenght, leading to facism and warring tribalism.
what the fuck?

He's describing a stateless society in which scarcity still exists, and accurately so.
