Undercover police cleared 'to have sex with activists'

Promiscuity 'regularly used as tactic', says former officer, contradicting claims from Acpo

Undercover police (http://www.guardian.co.uk/uk/police) officers routinely adopted a tactic of "promiscuity" with the blessing of senior commanders, according to a former agent who worked in a secretive unit of the Metropolitan police for four years.
The former undercover policeman claims that sexual relationships with activists were sanctioned for both men and women officers infiltrating anarchist, leftwing and environmental groups.

Sex was a tool to help officers blend in, the officer claimed, and was widely used as a technique to glean intelligence. His comments contradict claims last week from the Association of Chief Police Officers that operatives were absolutely forbidden to sleep with activists.
The one stipulation, according to the officer from the Special Demonstration Squad (SDS), a secret unit formed to prevent violent disorder on the streets of London, was that falling in love was considered highly unprofessional because it might compromise an investigation. He said undercover officers, particularly those infiltrating environmental and leftwing groups, viewed having sex with a large number of partners "as part of the job".

More evidence that the bourgeois state is prepared to go to any length to repress the working class.

Julian Assange: set up.

Fucking hell.

I knew these shits would go to great lengths but, what the fuck is this? Sleeping with activists to repress the movement? Are they that desperate for info?

Heads need to roll for this.:hammersickle::che::hammersickle:

Good to know that these are the same people charged with protecting the fine citizens of a western superpower, and good to see ethics alive and well in the police.

Maybe the Democrats/Labour Party will stop it? LOL. The orders to infiltrate leftist groups by any means necessary comes from Washington/London. From the so called left itself.

Hey, Bond did it all the time for Mother England.

Yes, I imagine President Obama briefing his secret police every evening on their dastardly infiltration operations which will go to any lengths to acquire information on fringe leftist groups. I can't really speak for Britain but in the US the police are quite separate from the Democratic political apparatus, and the party certainly has nothing to do with anything of this sort.

I know, right? You'd think police infiltrators would at least be ethical about it...

It's disgusting (although admittedly, not surprising) that they would disregard the feelings of the activists like this. Imagine how violated you would feel if you found out some undercover cop used you for information or to maintain their cover. Bastards.

This tactic could backfire once the pigs discover what a great lay the anarchists are.

They might even fall in love with an anarchist. Hmm

Dude, if she looked anything like lets say Megan Fox, feeling violated would be the last thing I would feel.
I actually had sex twice with a female cop a couple of years ago. I know I m a pig, but so is she!
But then again, I dont go around telling secrets to the every girl I sleep with...

Yeah, I completely agree. Just last week I saw him chasing down a pack of them with a crossbow on CNN, crazy indeed.

I openly admit that I do not think President Obama endorses the tactics which are being discussed in this topic. If that can really get me restricted, then I honestly don't know if I would want to continue on with being unrestricted on this site.

I'm not a mod and don't really acre either way. It's not just this thread you seem to have a thing for liberals in a few threads. Anyhow, yes, Janet Nepolitano is targeting left wing groups. Yes, Obama is informed and approves of what the DHS is doing. Obama is simply the latest representative for concentrated wealth. Just one of many examples is the report the Obama administration put out in 2009 saying left wing groups will be using the internet to 'attack America'. Kinda reminds you why he supports the FISA bill and Patriot Act doesn't it? I'll fill this thread up with examples if it's needed to shock you back to reality.

Sarcasm aside, do you think he's just totally unaware of the actions of the FBI?

People are making a this into a bit of a jokey topic but it shouldn't be. This is police really seriously violating people.

There is a difference between being aware of the tactics of this topic and more benign observation. Of course I don't really agree with either being done to a majority of leftist organizations, but at the same time I am capable of discerning between the two.

Honestly though, I can't see something like this being an issue that President Obama would take much interest in, comparatively speaking. At the moment this isn't really too much of a salient issue, so I find it hard to imagine the President taking a direct interest in it.

Thats their job. Rape, entrapment, murder, assault etc. It's organized crime with capitalists atop the pyramid but some call it justice. COPS aren't going to be held accountable for anything unless mass civil unrest is threatened. Kinda like capitalism.

Of course he didnt order these specific cops to infiltrate these specific groups. Policy is directed from above not specific details. It is in fact the Obama administrations policy to infiltrate and marginalize "left wing extremist" groups.
