So the next language I want to learn is Standard Mandarin. My mother tongue is English, followed by Hebrew, then Arabic, French, and finally Spanish (only reading).

If I could I would sacrifice Hebrew, French, and Spanish to learn Chinese.

Are there any good (and cheap?) resources for learning Mandarin?

Best way is to move to China, but seeing as that is expensive I suggest taking a class. I can't imagine learning a language without classes so I'm sure someone else can direct you to book sources which I'm sure you can handle with your extensive ability in language learning. Chinese is freaking hard. :(

WooChinese (http://woochinese.com/)

Chinese content (http://www.alljapaneseallthetime.com/blog/chinese-content-bonanza) (essential for getting the sense of pinyin tones)

ChinesePod (http://chinesepod.com/)

I would also suggest using spaced repetition software like Anki (http://ankisrs.net/).

Seeing this topic reminds me that I have trouble finishing what I start. I've looked at a whole list of languages, and I still don't speak anything other than English. :(

It is easy when you're GPA depends on you studying it. Plus it also helps having a friend that speaks it so you can practice.
